We Are Planting a Church in Madison WI

The huge news for the Tilma family is that we will be planting a church in the Madison Wisconsin area. The thought of planting a church is something we have considered for several years. It was this past May that we clearly felt God calling us to plant a church. We were serving at HCBC, a church in Austin TX that is highly committed to planting churches. After talking with some close friends, mentors and family we began talking with the BGC about church planting.
We attended an church planter’s assessment in August. During this four-day process a team of experienced planters and pastors assessed our readiness and ability to establish a new church. We received a full and unanimous recommendation to plant–a full “green light” so to speak. Rebecca and I had also been praying that God would make it very clear where we should plant. Our list started with several cities and we eventually narrowed it down to Portland, OR–Austin, TX and Madison, WI. After exploring each city it became clear that God was drawing us toward the Madison area.

Hi Dave and Becky,
Adonica and I wish you well in your new church plant in Wisconsin. Thanks for the newletter update. We have moved from Sunset over to Solid Rock. God is good. Family is fine. Real estate is good.
Your Friend and Brother,
Dave
Dave and Becky,
Blessings on your new faith walk. We will miss you here in Austin, but know God has big things for you in Madison, WI. Make sure you try the fried macaroni and cheese at Dotty Dumplings
What an adventure! Will pray for you on this journey, especially with all the initial preparations ahead. Look forward to getting updates. May God bless your family!
Dave and Becky,
I agree that there isn’t a big church base there and all the “good” churches that I experienced were quite a ways off campus so it was defintely difficult for students to get involved with them. Take care and God bless!
It’s amazing how God brings people into and out of your life… and even back into it years later! My husband and I received our undergrad degrees from UW-Madison so we know the area quite well. My husband’s youngest brother is a sophomore there now. Let me know if you’ve got any questions and I’ll see what I can do to help.
Hey Tilmas – we wanted to join the Shout! Would love to see your email every week. In addition to the above email address, email Barbara at akabarbaravaughan@charter.net.
Thanks – and Blessings!
